I am self-conscious too.
About how I look, about my health at the moment. On camera it is not my best image, not as attractive as I would like, and my voice is not what I would like either.
But something outweighs it
I was talking with a friend recently and realised: my self-consciousness is nothing next to wanting to help people with what I know.
When you know things that could help someone earn more, be healthier, spend more time with their family. When you know how to help someone learn English, communicate well, go abroad, open doors that were closed.
One image stays with me
It is like watching people digging for gold who are a foot short. Two more strikes and they would reach it, after years of swinging the pick.
If I do not tell them, that sits badly with me.
So
That is why I set aside the worries about appearance, about my voice, about all of it, and share more.
If there is something you are hesitant about that you know you should do, try weighing it: how heavy is your hesitation, and how heavy is what you are withholding from other people?
